The Rosini Lens Project's mission is to empower lives and communities by restoring sight. This global project brings kits to overseas locations where optometrists and affordable glasses are unavailable. The Rosani Lens Project is a Jacksonville-based 501C3. www.rosanilensproject.org

2026 will be the 3rd time we will travel to Grand Bahamas to provide approximately 400 pairs of eyeglasses, in two diffrent location, using the Rosani Lens Project kits plus over 400 reading glasses. We are partnering with the Grand Bahama and Freeport Rotary Clubs and local public health officials. The Bahamian Rotary Clubs will provide the venue and attract the population that will be served.

 

Service Opportunity for Club Members & their Families

Dates: January 27- February 1, 2026

Location: Freeport, Grand Bahama

Travel:  Flights are available from Jacksonville or Ft. Lauderdale to FPO (Freeport, Grand Bahama).  Round-trip is approximately $575 per person.   Margaritaville Ferry is an option, as is private aircraft charters from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.

Ground transportation: The group will share the cost of car rentals

Cost: Cost for travel, hotel, share of car rental and food is by the individual traveler.  Expect a cost of around $1,250 / person

Note: There are multiple options for travel to Grand Bahama, including the Margaritaville Ferry, charter aircraft, etc. Also, Airbnb, VRBO and other hotel options are available. You are free to choose any and all means of travel and accommodation. *Estimated flight and room prices are subject to change.  Each individual will need to book their own flight and room once dates are confirmed.

Saturday: Clinic 9am-3pm – Combined Club Social
Sunday: Return home

Notes: 

In addition to providing eye exams, prescriptions and reading glasses, there is an opportunity to tour the Island, meet Bahamian Rotary members, meet locals, visit places of interest and drink plenty of “Sands” Beer.

We will also provide approximately 400 pairs of reading glasses to qualifying members of the Grand Bahama population.
